Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

How to Get the RSV Vaccine

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common virus that can lead to severe illness in some individuals, particularly in babies, young children, and older adults. The RSV vaccine is available for those who are eligible, including:

  • Babies under 12 months and some young children at high risk
  • Adults aged 75 and over
  • Pregnant women over 28 weeks

If you fall into one of these groups, please check your eligibility by calling our surgery or visiting the NHS RSV vaccine page for more information including the benefits and sides effects of the vaccine.

At Westway Medical Centre, we are currently only booking RSV vaccine appointments for patients over 28 weeks pregnant. Once we are able to offer appointments for other eligible groups, we will reach out to those patients directly.
